Beth Kingsley Hawkins
Beth started her business as a gallery for her photography, which emphasizes hummingbirds and landscapes. However, she quickly found that the hummingbird lovers who came were also interested in hummingbird jewelry, pottery, feeders--you name it! So, now her business rightly claims to be photography and 'everything hummingbird.'
Beth comes to photography with a special background as a music therapist having taught it on the university level and having offered Guided Imagery and Music sessions in hospice settings. The fine art of her spiritual nature photography presents her unique perspective on our natural world – honoring our sacred earth and facilitating a connection to the Divine. Her gallery stars hummingbirds and one can see images of her specialty, hummingbirds nesting in Sedona and the Verde Valley, and learn about the other species found in the area.
Her other photographic love is the mysterious Navajo canyons inside the earth where she was fascinated that photographing the ‘outer’ landscapes, in their abstractness, could reveal the ‘inner’ landscape of the photographer. This discovery of the Zen of photography – that the camera focuses both ways - fueled her transition from music therapy to professional nature photographer. She has traveled well over a million miles in the pursuit of images that bring beauty to life and delights in bringing the rich inner world of imagery to life as well.
