Sedona's Tree Lighting & Santa Visit

Sedona’s Tree Lighting & Santa Visit kicks off the holiday season on Friday, December 2nd. Free entertainment, activities and refreshments are available from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Canyon Breeze Plaza in Uptown Sedona (300 North State Route 89A) near the mid-block crosswalk.

Come join in holiday caroling and then watch as Sedona Mayor Sandy Moriarty lights the 20’ holiday tree, and simultaneously turn on the lights of the Uptown water tower, thanks to Arizona Water Company. Santa will arrive on the Sedona’s Historic Fire Engine No. 1 courtesy of the Sedona Heritage Museum and a special Sedona Police Department escort.

Children of all ages will have the opportunity to spend individual time with Santa and tell him their hopes and dreams for this holiday season and the coming year. Sacks of treats for each child will be provided courtesy of the Sedona Chamber of Commerce, with help from Santa’s elves. Make sure to bring along your own camera to capture your child’s special moment.

As the youngsters visit with Santa, you'll hear the sweet sounds of local young talent in their complementary performances. All the while, you can enjoy hot cocoa and cookies, courtesy of Canyon Breeze Restaurant.

The twenty foot Giant Everest tree was made possible by the generosity of community businesses. The select handcrafted ornaments were donated several years ago by local artisans and the entire tree is decked out with all ball ornaments, contributed by Sedona Main Street Program.

Come join us to share the small town spirit, sense of community and special festivity among friends, neighbors, and visitors from around the world! While you’re here in the Main Street District, we encourage you to enjoy an afternoon and evening out on the town - bring your holiday list and Shop Sedona as you stroll along the storefronts enjoying the holiday decorations. And be sure to choose one of the many great restaurants to dine at your leisure.

Parking is available along SR 89A, in parking lots at plazas and shops in Uptown, and in the Uptown Sedona Public Parking lot at 260 Schnebly Road in Uptown. Sedona Police Department personnel will be on hand at the SR 89A mid-block crosswalk for your convenience and safety.

Sedona Main Street Program, the City of Sedona and Sedona Chamber of Commerce present this free family event for your enjoyment, and extend “Seasons Greetings and Best Wishes for the New Year” to all residents and visitors.
