FREE GUIDED CANOE PADDLE is brought to you by The Verde River Valley Nature Organization (VRVNO) and sponsored by American Rivers and South by Southwest Outfitters. What a great way to experience and learn about the Verde River! Enjoy a shaded paddle along a lazy stretch of the Verde River (seldom floatable because of irrigation ditch use) guided by experienced paddlers. VRVNO and our partners invite first time floaters and introductory level paddlers to join us on this fun and friendly trip about 1.5 hours down river. The river winds under a canopy of rare Fremont Cottonwood and Goodding's Willow and you will have an opportunity to watch for many types of birds, occasional river otter and beaver, as well as the colorful flight of dragon and damsel flies in and out of dense green vegetation.
VRVNO is a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to ‘provide nature based recreation, education and tourism opportunities promoting stewardship of the Verde River Valley'. “One of the jewels of the great state of Arizona, the Verde River is an important and well-loved gem in this remarkable landscape”, for a beautiful morning introduction to our very own unique and bio-diverse Verde River.
