The trails of the Sedona, Arizona Red Rock country need your help. Our extensive, multi-use trail system is internationally known for allowing hikers, bikers, runners, equestrians and people of all ages and abilities to access and enjoy the beauty of the Sedona area. More than 1.7 million visitors/year explore the 270 miles of trails that are signed, maintained, and supervised by the local Red Rock Ranger District of the USFS, and this causes inevitable wear and tear on fragile desert soils and plants. Due to changes in funding and increasing strain on local resources Sedona's ranger District and local volunteers cannot continue to maintain and improve our trails without additional financial help. The estimated shortfall for funding this year alone is $200,000. The Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund is a 501c3 non-profit organization created to encourage and accept donations to maintain these trails for the public, and we guarantee that every dollar donated goes entirely toward the maintenance and improvement of Sedona area local trails. The Trail Fund is composed entirely of Sedona area volunteers, all devoted advocates for and users of the Sedona trails.
What the Result Will Be
Created just over a year ago,the Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund has already assisted in efforts to improve signage and maps at trailheads and trail junctions, helped fund priority maintenance of over 80 miles of trails, and helped fund the creation of new multi-use trails and connections. Future projects include additional mountain-biking trails, more accessible maps, and easier trailhead access for visitors. Sedona's trails are a precious local resource, and also a very fragile one. Through donations from visitors, organizations, and businesses we hope to ensure a safe and sustainable trail system for years to come. Please help us in our efforts, and remember that every dollar raised goes directly toward the maintenance and improvement of Sedona's trails.
