Preserving The Past For The Future
We are the caretakers of Sedona area history. Visit us for personal enjoyment, entertainment, education and research. The Sedona Heritage Museum is focused on the lifestyles and works of the people who pioneered this community, from 1876 to the present. The Museum was once an orchard and is now where the community preserves the continuum of the history of Sedona. We focus on community events, education, history preservation, archives and restoration. The Museum is housed in Jordan Historical Park, a public city park. The property is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Kids visiting can embark on a scavenger hunt or dive into the Museum's activity book! Our collection currently includes thousands of artifacts and photos in over 500 volumes and via our digital catalog system. It is available for research by appointment or when the Museum is open. The Museum Gift Shop features locally made items and the historic buildings and park are a popular backdrop for weddings, informal picnics and other gatherings.
Special exhibits celebrate the golden age of film-making in Sedona, Arizona's first commercial winery located here, our namesake Sedona Schnebly, and pioneer families and other history and history-makers.
All Museum functions, programs and services are funded and created by the Sedona Historical Society and our volunteers and staff.
