VRVNO is the parent organization of the 15 year old Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival. Established in 2012 to further our outreach we now host a variety of annual events, activities and workshops promoting our vision and mission:

March:  Outdoor Science Fair - Partnering with our AZ and Verde Valley SciTechies VRVNO provides a day of introduction to how technology reaches into the great outdoors providing, fun, education and opportunities!

March: Verde River RunOff - 5 & 10 mile canoe and kayak race along some of the most scenic stretches of our local Verde River.

April is RiverFest Month: Partnership, Calendar and Map of events and activities that promote a healthy and authentic experience in the Verde Valley

April: Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival includes 4 days of guided birding hikes from desert, high elevation, to river riparian habitats and including archaeological, geological, wildlife and plants experiences, amazing keynote and workshop presenters, Family Nature Fair Day, birders delight vendor tent...

November: Nature Guide Academy: Interpretive Guiding and Communications workshop from teens to adults. NGA is useful for anyone front end in the tourism, hospitality or related service industries

Other: Birding 101 Intro to local Birding, Safe River Recreation Workshops, Guided Canoe Paddle, Celebrate the River Concert, Youth workshops and scholarships in outdoor recreation. 

How to Support

You can support VRVNO by getting involved through sustaining membership, volunteering, voluntouring, donating or sponsoring, or co-sponsoring one of our programs or events. Or just join us by signing up for one of our fun, educational and hands-on experiential opportunities!
